“Do you like the sounds of warm summer nights sitting on the porch swing and listening to the breeze blow? The sound of crickets in the background? If you do, then I’m the girl for you. My name is Cricket. I got that name because when I want some attention I make the sweetest chirping sound, like the insect - although I like to think of myself as a love bug craving affection from a family. Don’t squash my dreams of finding a family, come down and meet me at the shelter!”

Adoption fee: $60. Includes spaying, vaccines and microchipping.
“Where flowers bloom, so does hope.” My name’s Daisy, and my biggest hope is to a find the right garden where I can take up root and grow. I am a loving girl, and with the right soil, feeding and watering. I promise to always bloom into the prettiest thing you’ve ever seen. I am young and have energy to always have the best time. I like to run and lay out to soak up the sun. If you feel like I could help complete your family bouquet, come visit me down at the shelter today!”

Precious lives up to her name - this sweet kitty is such a nice companion! She will be the first in line for pets. She is an affectionate cat that will acclimate to various home environments. Beware; she is a lap cat, so expect her to be close when you're at home. Precious loves to have her own space from other cats, but can learn to peacefully live with others - probably not as a playmate, but she can coexist with them. Dogs aren't really her thing, but again as long as they aren't pestering her and she has her own space, she would be down for a canine companion. If you are searching for a sweet, lap cat friend, Precious is for you! Apply to adopt her today at www.catawbahumane.org.

Valor longs for a life of quiet, calm, and lounging, so the shelter environment should be the last place she should be - yet here she is. Whatever her past, we know it is not a good one, and it must've been one filled with years of neglect based on the condition she was found in. Due to her medical conditions, Valor is going to be considered a hospice case, and that means she deserves to live out her last golden years in a home, not in a shelter. Valor is low maintenance; she needs no more than slow walks and a soft bed. She doesn't make much noise and doesn't care for toys. She does, however, request a home with no kids or other pets, or one with cats only that won't pester her. If you think you can be the home this girl deserves, apply to adopt at www.catawbahumane.org.
